THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a Licensing Manager to lead our Licensing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the licensing activities of the company, ensuring that all licensed products are in line with the brand's image and meet consumer demand. You will also be responsible for leading a team of licensing professionals, providing direction, leadership and support to ensure the department's success against KPI’s and contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of licensing and merchandising strategies, as well as a proven track record of delivery on successful global listening programs for a global sporting or entertainment brand. They must demonstrate their ability to work closely with global licensees and agents and be able to negotiate and secure new and renewals for licensing deals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategy
• Develop and execute a clear and commercially sustainable global licensing strategy, in line with the brand's image and consumer demand.
• Identify potential licensing partners and negotiate and secure licensing deals that align with the company's objectives.
• Monitor and analyze market trends and consumer demand to ensure that the company's licensing and merchandising strategies remain relevant and competitive.
Operational Excellence
• System and sign off process.
• Contracts.
• Lead and manage the Licensing team, ensuring that all team members are meeting their personal performance targets and achieving departmental objectives.
Licensee Relationships
• Work closely with licensees and agents to ensure that all licensed products meet quality standards and are in line with the brand's image.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing licensees, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
KPI’s and Contractual Obligations
• Develop and manage the licensing budget, ensuring that all activities are within budget constraints.
• Win new business and licensees.
Marketing and Brand
• Ensure that all licensed products are properly marketed and promoted to maximize sales.
• Licensee Shows.
Brand Protection
Develop and implement anti-counterfeiting measures to protect the brand's intellectual property.
